At Totalmobile, we’re at the heart of a rapidly expanding industry that’s transforming how businesses deliver field services. Over the past six years, we’ve made eight strategic acquisitions, with the latest in December 2024, further cementing our status as a market leader. Our extraordinary 450% revenue growth in the past three years is a testament to our ambition, innovation, and the talented individuals driving our success.
Here, security isn’t a box-ticking exercise. It’s a critical part of how we protect essential services, our customers, and our people. As our business continues to grow and invest in cutting-edge technology, we’re looking for a curious, driven Security Operations Engineer to join us at the beginning of their security career and grow with us.
This is an opportunity for a graduate with a genuine interest in cybersecurity, or someone with around a year of industry experience, to step into a hands-on security role within a fast-moving software company. You’ll work alongside experienced security professionals, gain exposure to real-world threats, and help shape how security evolves across Totalmobile.
The role
Reporting to the Security Operations Manager, you’ll play an active role in implementing and overseeing IT security controls, supporting our external SOC, and contributing to internal security projects. You’ll work closely with operational support teams, developers, and project teams, helping ensure that everything we build and deliver is secure by design.
From day one, you’ll be encouraged to develop your technical knowledge, stay curious about the latest developments in IT security, and take a proactive role in protecting client and employee data. As you learn the business and our products, you’ll help ensure we meet both regulated and non-regulated security standards, supporting certifications such as CES, CES+, and ISO27001.
This is a broad, varied role that will give you exposure across security operations, monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, and business continuity. With major technical initiatives planned for 2026 and beyond, there’s no shortage of opportunities to learn, contribute, and make a real impact.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll support our SOC by using and helping to develop tools such as SIEM, SOAR, and threat intelligence, while continuously looking for ways to improve visibility and monitoring. You’ll triage and respond to security alerts, analyse potential threats, and escalate incidents through established SOC processes when required.
You’ll help maintain and improve our security tooling, including platforms such as Microsoft 365 Defender, Azure, Netskope, and Mimecast. You’ll support vulnerability management activities, test and audit systems, software, and firewalls, and assist colleagues across the business with their cybersecurity needs.
You’ll also take part in an on-call rota, contribute to the development of security standards, and support the Security Operations Manager with ad-hoc tasks and strategic initiatives as the security function continues to mature.
Who we’re looking for
You will be a recent graduate with an IT-related degree or you will have at least 1 year of experience working in IT Security. We’re looking for someone who is focused, inquisitive, and takes pride in doing things the right way. Ideally, you’ll have some experience overseeing IT security controls and an understanding of threat management, but just as important is your attitude and appetite to learn.
You’ll be comfortable working with stakeholders at different levels, able to explain security concepts clearly, and happy collaborating as part of a wider team. Integrity, professionalism, and strong ethical standards are essential, as is a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Desirable experience
An interest in, or progress towards, an industry-recognised security qualification would be a bonus, as would familiarity with technologies such as MFA, password management, secure file transfer, Microsoft Defender, encryption, and the current cyber threat landscape. Previous exposure to SIEM or SOC environments and a degree of commercial awareness would also be advantageous.
If you’re earlier in your career and looking to break into security, we’d love to hear from you. If you already have around a year of relevant experience and want to deepen your skills in a supportive environment, this role could be the perfect next step.
