Description

The Reporting Manager will take ownership of statutory reporting, audit management, tax reporting (in partnership with external tax advisors), and company secretarial compliance across the group.

This is a key role within the finance function, ensuring robust financial control, compliance with relevant accounting standards, and readiness for private equity stakeholder scrutiny. The role requires a technically strong, detail-oriented, qualified accountant with 5–7 years’ post-qualification experience in a fast-paced, preferably PE-backed, environment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Statutory & Financial Reporting
  • Lead the preparation of annual statutory financial statements under UK GAAP.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes and legal entity postings.
  • Maintain strong technical accounting oversight, including revenue recognition (FRS 102), share-based payments, and acquisition accounting where applicable.
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements for group entities.
  • Act as the key technical accounting contact for complex transactions and new accounting standards.
  1. Audit Management
  • Lead the annual external audit process end-to-end.
  • Act as the primary contact for external auditors.
  • Coordinate audit deliverables across finance and wider business teams.
  • Ensure timely resolution of audit queries and management letter points.
  • Continuously improve audit readiness and internal documentation.
  1. Tax Reporting (with External Advisors)
  • Manage the relationship with external tax advisors.
  • Oversee corporation tax computations and filings prepared by advisors.
  • Coordinate VAT returns and other indirect tax reporting.
  • Support tax structuring considerations in collaboration with PE sponsors and advisors.
  • Ensure compliance with all tax reporting obligations across relevant jurisdictions.
  1. Company Secretarial
  • Oversee company secretarial compliance for all group entities.
  • Manage statutory filings and ensure maintenance of statutory registers.
  • Coordinate board approvals, resolutions, and Companies House (or equivalent) filings.
  • Support corporate restructuring, refinancing, or M&A activities from a compliance perspective.
  1. Controls & Process Improvement
  • Maintain and enhance financial controls in line with PE governance standards.
  • Document and improve financial reporting processes.
  • Support integration of acquisitions, if applicable.
  • Drive continuous improvement in reporting accuracy and efficiency.

Candidate Profile

Qualifications

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent).
  • 5–7 years’ post-qualification experience.
  • Background in audit or tax (Big 4 preferred).

Experience

  • Experience in a private equity–backed environment strongly preferred.
  • Experience within a SaaS or recurring revenue business advantageous.
  • Strong statutory reporting and consolidation experience.
  • Proven track record of managing external audits.
  • Exposure to tax reporting coordination with advisors.
  • Experience handling company secretarial matters preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS or UK GAAP.
  • Solid understanding of SaaS revenue recognition principles.
  • Experience with financial systems (e.g., Dynamics, Sage, or similar ERP systems).
  • Advanced Excel skills.
