Every great product starts with a question: how can we make this better for the people who rely on it every day?
At Totalmobile, we’re not just building software—we’re helping organisations deliver essential services more efficiently and effectively. Our Field First platform brings together everything from workforce management to operational intelligence, creating a fully integrated ecosystem that drives real-world impact.
With over 1,000 organisations relying on our technology, and a team of over 400 people across the UK and Ireland, we’ve built a strong foundation.
Now, we’re creating a brand-new opportunity for someone at the start of their product journey to help shape what comes next—specifically within our social housing solutions, where our technology plays a critical role in supporting housing providers and the communities they serve.
If you’re looking for a genuine entry point into product—one where you’ll be trusted, supported, and allowed to grow—and you bring experience or understanding of the social housing sector, this is it.
From sector knowledge to product impact
You might be coming from a technical background within social housing. Perhaps you’ve worked in development, support, implementation, or project delivery for housing systems. You understand the challenges housing providers face—from repairs and maintenance to compliance and tenant experience—and you’re increasingly curious about how technology can solve them better.
As an Associate Product Owner, you’ll bridge that gap.
Working alongside experienced Product Managers and Product Owners, you’ll take real-world housing challenges and help turn them into tangible product improvements. You’ll break down complex problems into clear, actionable user stories. You’ll help shape the backlog, guide delivery teams, and ensure what gets built genuinely meets the needs of housing organisations and their customers.
This isn’t about owning the full product vision just yet. It’s about learning how great products are built—step by step—with the support, coaching, and exposure to get you there.
Learning by doing supported every step of the way
This role has been designed with growth in mind. You won’t be expected to have all the answers on day one. Instead, you’ll be given the space to develop your skills across agile delivery, customer discovery, and product lifecycle management. You’ll work closely with experienced colleagues, join conversations with housing customers, and see firsthand how product decisions are shaped by real user needs and sector demands.
Over time, your scope will grow. Your confidence will build. And your path towards becoming a Product Owner will become clear.
The role
Day to day, you’ll be embedded within a product team, helping to keep delivery moving and aligned with customer value.
You’ll collaborate with users and stakeholders—particularly within the social housing sector—to understand real-world challenges, then translate those into well-defined requirements, epics, and user stories. You’ll manage and refine the backlog, ensuring it’s prioritised, ready, and aligned with the wider roadmap.
You’ll play an active role in sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives—working closely with developers to ensure clarity, quality, and momentum. Along the way, you’ll identify dependencies, remove blockers, and help maintain the standards that keep delivery running smoothly.
Just as importantly, you’ll begin to build your own product expertise—developing a deep understanding of the solutions you support and the problems they solve within social housing.
What you’ll bring with you
You will need a third-level qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent practical experience, training, or demonstrable interest in product, technology, or digital delivery. Just as importantly, you’ll bring experience of the social housing sector—whether that’s through working with housing providers, delivering software into the sector, or supporting housing operations.
You don’t need years of product experience to be considered. What matters more is your mindset and your ability to apply your sector knowledge in a product environment. You’re naturally curious, analytical, and detail-oriented. You enjoy breaking down problems and finding practical solutions. You’re comfortable working with others, sharing ideas, and contributing to a shared goal.
You might already have experience with tools like Jira or Confluence, or an understanding of agile ways of working. Maybe you’ve explored user-centred design or have an interest in SaaS products and mobile platforms. If not, you’re ready to learn—and quickly. Above all, you’re someone who understands the nuances of social housing and wants to improve how technology supports the organisations and people within it, not just maintain the status quo.
