Description

Totalmobile is a Field Service Management (FSM) provider passionate about improving work and mobile workers' lives. About the role

Totalmobile is undertaking a major transformation of the Organise product, moving from an on-premises solution to a cloud-based SaaS platform and upgrading the technology stack.

The current system includes:

  • A VB.NET WinForms application with a SQL Server backend
  • An ASP.NET Web Forms application
  • A mobile application
  • Existing C# APIs

A new replacement platform is also being actively developed using C#, .NET Core, and React, incorporating modern architectural approaches such as Micro-Front-End frameworks.

You will initially be working on the legacy system, gaining domain knowledge and supporting enhancements, before progressively contributing to the new platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and enhance the existing VB.NET / SQL Server-based system
  • Develop and maintain APIs supporting both legacy and new platforms
  • Contribute to the new system (C#, .NET Core, React) over time
  • Collaborate with developers, QA, and product teams
  • Participate in an out-of-hours support rota (with additional compensation)

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Strong understanding of software development fundamentals
  • Working knowledge of C#, with the expectation of working primarily in VB.NET in the initial phase to support the existing WinForms client, before progressing to C# and .NET Core across APIs and the new platform
  • Some experience (academic or commercial) in a software development environment
  • Exposure to or interest in API development
  • Interest in modern technologies such as React
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset
